How are our protective masks certified?

All our protective masks are certified according to applicable EU standards (EN14683:2019 and EN 149:2001 +A1:2009) and TÜV-tested.

What distinguishes medical mouth-nose protection and FFP2/ FFP3 masks?

Mouth-nose protective masks primarily prevent the wearer from spreading exhaled droplets and saliva and mainly serve to protect others. The masks protect the wearer from liquid splashes such as blood, but not from fine aerosols. FFP2 masks protect against fine dust and aerosols. They are primarily used for self-protection and workplace safety. These masks are made of a high-quality filter material and close tightly to the face. Masks without exhalation valve also prevent exhaled droplets and saliva from spreading around the environment and thus also fulfil the external protection.

How do I put on a FFP2 mask correctly?

Always place the FFP2 mask as shown and described in the instructions for use. They have the full protective effect when the respirator is close to the face and the rubber bands run straight and flat to the rear. Our mask design adapts automatically to the face shape. The flexible nose clamp provides additional support.

What do I have to consider when wearing a protective mask?

The mask must completely cover the mouth, nose and cheeks and fit close at the edges to minimize the penetration of air on the sides. A moistened mask should be removed and replaced immediately. After removing the mask, wash your hands thoroughly (at least 20-30 seconds with soap) in compliance with the general hygiene rules and dispose of used masks as airtight as possible. Currently, it is also essential to comply with the current hygiene regulations, in particular the current recommendations of the health authority of your country. Although using a mask, keep the recommended safety distance from other people.

Can FFP2 masks be cleaned and reused?

Basically only FFP2 masks marked “R” (reusable) are reusable. These masks have a sealing lip that can be cleaned and disinfected. However, we only deliver disposable FFP2 masks, because in several countries insurances provide restrictions. For example in Germany the German Statutory Accident Insurance defines: When handling radioactive and dispersed biological substances, including the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, all FFP respirator masks may only be used once or at most for the duration of a working shift, regardless of their marking. For personal, private use only, our FFP2 masks can also be reused. Then the following washing instructions apply: Clean the mask after each use. The water temperature should be at least at 60 degrees better though at 95 degrees, if necessary use suitable disinfectants. Alternatively, it is possible to boil the masks for 10 minutes in a saucepan. Afterwards the masks must be dried completely.
